The summer time is in full swing. The United States has had some of the most unpredictable weather on record. Floods, fires, Tornadoes, and Dust storms have all affected some part of the country so far this summer.  With all these events many people find themselves displaced without the necessary items.  I would like to share with you some items to keep in an emergency supply kit. Here’s the list:

  • Water – 1 gallon of water per person per day for at least 3 days.
  • Food – a 3 day supply of non-perishable food items
  • Flashlight & extra batteries
  • First Aid Kit
  • Whistle
  • Dust Mask
  • Moist towelettes
  • Wrench or pliers
  • Can opener
  • Local map
  • Cell phone with chargers

Additional Items to consider

  • Prescriptions medications
  • Infant formula & diapers
  • Pet food
  • Important family documents
  • Cash
  • Emergency reference material (such as a first aid book)
  • Blankets
  • Change of clothes
  • Household chlorine & medicine dropper
  • Fire extinguisher

  • Mess kits, paper cups, plates etc…
